His Royal Highness the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir graced the Breaking Fast Ceremony organized by Malaysian Army Royal Signal Regimen (Rejimen Semboyan Diraja, RSD) at Wisma Perwira in the Federal Capital Kuala Lumpur, yesterday. His Royal Highness were accompanied by his royal consort, Her Royal Highness the Tunku Ampuan Besar (Queen) of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Aishah Rohani binti Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud and his first son, His Royal Highness the Tengku Besar of Seri Menanti, Tunku Ali Redhauddin.

Also attended the ceremony were the Kor Commander of RSD, General Datuk Zulkiflee Mazlan.

His Royal Highness the Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of Perak, Raja Nazrin Shah attended the Breaking Fast Ceremony with Judges, Uniform Units and Law Enforcers at Istana Iskandariah in the royal city Kuala Kangsar. Also attended the ceremony were the Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Ismail Omar; the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) of Perak, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and Commander of the Armed Forces, General Datuk Zulkifli Zainal Abidin.

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah graced the breaking fast ceremony with the Pahang customs members and the children of Sultanah Hajah Kalsom children's home in the ceremony held in Kuantan, Pahang. Also accompanied the Sultan were His Royal Highness the Tengku Mahkota (Crown Prince) of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah ibni Sultan Ahmad Shah. His Royal Highness the Sultan also consented in the ceremony to deliver daily necessity to the member of the customs and children of Sultanah Hajah Kalsom children's home.

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah attended the Yaasin and Tahlil Recitation in conjunction with the Warriors Day Celebration held at Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah in the capital city Shah Alam, Selangor. Accompanied the Sultan were His Royal Highness the Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah and the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

Pulau Pinang Investiture Day


In conjunction of the 74th Birthday Celebration of His Excellency the Yang Dipertua Negeri (Head of State) of Pulau Pinang, the State witnessed an investiture ceremony held at Dewan Sri Pinang, George Town yesterday. 1,136 recipients were invested with the State Honorary Medal and Award. The first in the list is the Chief Justice of Malaysia, Tun Arifin Zakaria who is the sole recipient of the Order of Darjah Utama Pangkuan Negeri (DUPN) which carries the title 'Datuk Seri Utama'.


Three individuals were conferred the Darjah Panglima Pangkuan Negeri (DPPN) which carries the title 'Datuk Seri'. They are Tan Sri Lee Kim Tiong @ Lee Kim who is the founder of Country Heights Group of Companies, Datuk Seri Kelvin Kwong Sen who is the Chairman of Mini-Circuits Technology Malaysia and Chairman of Magni-tech Industries Bhd, Tan Sri Tan Kok Ping.


Eight other recipients been conferred the Order of Anugerah Darjah Gemilang Pangkuan Negeri (DGPN) which also carries the title 'Datuk Seri'. They are the Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Pertahanan Malaysia, Left. Gen. Datuk Wira Allatif Mohamed Noor, Chairman of Kumpulan Barkath Sdn Bhd, Datuk Barkath Abu Backer, Executive Chairman of Kah Motor Company Sdn Bhd, Datuk Loh Cheng Yean, Islamic Law expert, Datuk Md Yusup Che Teh and Founder of Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi, Cheng Yen. Also received the order were Penang High Court Judge, Datuk Zakaria Sam, Commander of Army, Gen Datuk Zulkifli Zainal Abidin and former Chairman of Penang Port Commission, Datuk Zainol Abidin Salleh.

Five individuals received the Darjah Yang Mulia Pangkuan Negeri (DMPN) which carries the title 'Datuk'. They are Keeper of the Royal Seal, Datuk Syed Daniel Syed Ahmad, Chief Operations Officer of Tabung Haji, Datuk Kamarudin Mat Ali, Vice-Chairman of Penang Goodwill Consultative Council, Datuk Azmi Merican, Managing Director of Manikkam Enterprise, Datuk Suppiah Manikkam and Chairman of South Georgetown Scouts Association, Datuk Dr Yee Thiam Sun.

Also included in the list received the order of Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN) (57 people), Darjah Johan Negeri (DJN) (67 people), Bintang Cemerlang Negeri (BCN) (33 people), Pingat Kelakuan Terpuji (PKT) (178 people), Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) (341 people), Pingat Jasa Masyarakat (PJM) (332 people) and Pingat Bakti Setia (PBS) (114 people).

Their Majesties the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong (the Supreme Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Hajah Haminah graced the 54th International Tilawah Al-Quran held at Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur, yesterday. 62 competitors from all over the world participate in this year Tilawah. This year ceremony also witnessed the first ever participation from three countries, Belgium, Ghana and Tanzania.

Kelantan's born Muhammad Annuar Ghazali, 36, emerges as the winner of the 54th International Tilawah Al-Quran in Qari category. He who recites the Surah Al-Hud gains 95.33% defeating the runner up, Amin Pouya from Iran who gains 91.67%. The third place is Raden Harmoko Baharudin from Indonesia who gains 90.16% marks.

In the Qariah category, Moroccan Hasnae Khoulali,19, emerged as a winner with 94% marks, the same with the second and third place. The recitation of the Al-Quran is the key of securing her in the first place. The second place is Rahmawati Bakri Hunawa from Indonesia and in the third place is Che Aminah Che Awang from Malaysia.

The prize of the first place from both categories were presented by His Majesty Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah in a form of cash prize RM40,000 with trophy, souvenir and certificate. The second prize received a cash prize of RM30,000 and the third place received RM20,000. Also present in the Tilawah Al-Quran was the Chairman of the Tilawah, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom.

Their Royal Highnesses the Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and consort, the Raja Puan Muda (Crown Princess) of Perlis, Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah binti Khalil Akashah attended the Charity Concert of "One Child One Hope" held in Kuala Lumpur, yesterday. The group of Smart Reader Kids entertained the concert which is also attended by the CEO of Smart Reader Kids Sdn Bhd, Datuk Richard Ong.

In the ceremony, the royal couple also consented to witness the presentation ceremony of Malaysian Book of Records certificate by Datuk Danny Ooi to the CEO of Smart Reader Kids.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah attended the passing-out parade of Malaysian Royal Air force cadet Diploma class 2012 held at Air Force college in Kepala Batas, Pulau Pinang. In the ceremony, His Majesty inspecting the Guard-of-honour mounted by 34 cadets of diploma class 2012. The Supreme Ruler also presented the Best Overall Award winner to Cadet Sarjan Mohammad Syaaban Zainal Abidin.

Also attended the ceremony were Commander of the Royal Malaysian Air Force, Tan Sri Rodzali Daud.

Floria 2012


Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong (the Supreme Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Hajah Haminah officiated the Putrajaya Flower Festival (Floria 2012) held at Presint 2, Putrajaya yesterday. The festival taking "Bunga Kertas - Tetap Menawan" (Baugenvilla : Always Charming) as its themed exhibit almost 400,000 trees and flowers of various species from all over the world. The festival will be held for nine days, and receive participation from 16 international florist designers from Australia, Taiwan, Indonesia, The Philippines, China, Netherlands, United States and United Kingdom.

The Queen also spent about an hour visiting the exhibitions. The festival were organized by Perbadanan Putrajaya with the support of Ministry of Federal Territories and Urban Well-Being.
