HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin presented the Anugerah Tokoh Maal Hijrah to Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Abd Shukor Husin

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to deliver the Maal Hijrah 1433H National Award in the ceremony held at Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC), Putrajaya. The recipient of the prestigious award of National Maal Hijrah Prominent Figures 1433H fall to the Chairman of National Fatwa Council, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Abd Shukor Husin. While the award of International Maal Hijrah Prominent Figures 1433H falls to the Haj Minister of Saudi Arabia, Dr Fouad Abdul Salam. Dr Fouad, 65, who could not attend the ceremony will receive the award at a special ceremony later.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong presented cash prize of RM100,000, contribution of RM10,000 from Ubadi Foundation, Medal, gift, certificate and plaque to Dr Abd Shukor Husin. Accompanied the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was Her Royal Highness the Raja Permaisuri Agong (the Supreme Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Nur Zahirah.

Also present were the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abd Razak and wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansur; Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and wife, Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom.
