Heroes Day Celebration

For the first time, Malaysian Heroes Day celebration is celebrated at Dataran Merdeka and not at National Monument as always. Even though there has been a changed in location, the ceremony still going with its festive atmosphere. The ceremony is opened by Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, HRH Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin. Also present at the ceremony is Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Malaysian Defense Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zaid Hamidi, and Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein. Chief of Military and Police Chief, Tan Sri Azizan Ariffin and Tan Sri Musa Hassan also present.

In this year celebration, a new pantomime was played named “Pertempuran Bukit Candu (The Battle of Bukit Candu)”. Heroes Day is celebrated every 31st July to commemorate the services of Malaysian Armed Forces to defend the country.
