To avoid compromising the war's secrecy, Lancer hunts down and pierces Shirō's heart with a spear. Shaken and dazed, Shirō returns home only to be assaulted a second time by Lancer. Shirō weakly defends himself against Lancer, but is soon overwhelmed by the powerful Servant's attack, and is sent flying into his shed's storage room. Cornered, Shirō prepares for the worst; but before Lancer can inflict another fatal blow, a young woman outfitted in alabaster armor blocks Lancer's spear. After driving Lancer away from Shiro, she introduces herself as Saber, and greets him with the words....

"I ask of you, are you my master?"

CHARACTER

Photobucket
From left, Archer, Saber, Tohsaka Rin and Emiya Shiro

Character base in Fate/stay night is extremely comprehensive and expansive, with characters possessing varied and extraordinary abilities.

Emiya Shiro
Shirō Emiya is the main character of the story. He is a serious yet helpful, hardworking, and honest teenager. His hobbies include fixing a variety of broken things, from VCRs to stoves, as well as cooking and cleaning. He has some slight talent with sorcery, though he was discouraged by his foster father Kiritsugu Emiya from improving his gifts. He is initially confused about the Holy Grail War and attempts to irrationally shield others from danger, including his own Servant, Saber.

Saber
She is Shirō's Servant, an agile and powerful warrior. Loyal, independent, and reserved, Saber acts coldly but is actually suppressing her emotions to focus on her goals. Her class is considered the "Most Outstanding", with excellent ratings in all categories. Since her Master cannot effectively provide her with Mana, she minimizes her activity to preserve what she has. Saber is frustrated by Shirō's "protective" tendencies, believing his erratic and reckless behavior will jeopardize her chances of winning the Holy Grail War.

Tohsaka Rin
A model student and idol of Shirō's school who is secretly a sorceress and Master in the Holy Grail War. She is a descendant from a long line of sorcerers, and though she lacks a formal magic education, she is extremely powerful in her own right. Her father was killed in the fourth Holy Grail War, and she has trained since his death to succeed him. She is perceptive, resourceful and avidly competitive. She tried to summon a Saber-class Servant, but she accidentally called Archer instead.

Archer
He is the Servant of one of the series' main heroines, Rin Tōsaka. Due to an incomplete summon, he apparently has no memory of his previous life or identity. Archer is sarcastic and cynical - but under his hardened exterior lies a complex and dark personality that unfolds throughout the story. Though skilled with ranged weapons, he can hold his own in mêlée combat. Archer considers Shirō Emiya's idealism to be weak and delusional, recognizing Shirō's mentality of "wanting to save everyone" as naïve and impossible.

Plus, 7 sorcerers in the series will summon servant from 7 class. Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Berserker, Assassin, and Caster. Only one can be summon from each class.

COMMENT

The storyline and the improvement of each character are impressive. Each of the character has their own personnal struggle and had to overcome them alone. Out of seven sorcerer, some of them are acquaintance with each other and had to kill each other to gain the ultimate price, The Holy Grail.

One thing that I like about this story is each Master summon a servant that are heroic figure in the past. Example, Gilgamesh, heracles, medea, King Author alongside with their special weapon like Excallibur...

If the battle happen in Malaysia, it's just like Hang Tuah being summon with his Taming Sari.... :)

Special Engagement

Assalamualaikum and Peace be upon all of you..
Thanks for viewing my blog.

Last Saturday, 23 May 2009 is my cousins engagement day. It is also my first family meeting for this year. We spend the afternoon at my grandparent house, the place where I been raised. I stayed with my grandparents until I was 5. Yes, I was raised as a 'Kampung Boy'.

One things that I really like here is it beautiful scenery. It is not a thing that you can see everyday at the city like Johor Bahru. Well, the only things that I regret that the river is not as clean and beautiful as before.

Dugong

Assalamualaikum and Peace be upon all of you..
Thanks for viewing my blog.

Today Flora and Fauna will bring you the unique species of Dugong. Yes, the same species of the once popular animal in Malaysia that called "Si Tenang" a few years ago which is found by fisherman lost at the Straits of Johor from its colony.

Dugong 1

CHARACTERISTICS

The dugong (Dugong dugon) is a large marine mammal which, together with the manatees, is one of four living species of the order Sirenia. It is the only living representative of the once-diverse family Dugongidae; its closest modern relative, Steller's Sea Cow (Hydrodamalis gigas), was hunted to extinction in the 18th century. dugong is the only strictly-marine herbivorous mammal, as all species of manatee utilize fresh water to some degree.

The dugong has been hunted for thousands of years, often for its meat and oil. Despite being legally protected in many countries throughout their range, the main causes of population decline remain anthropogenic, and include hunting, habitat degradation, and fishing-related fatalities. With its long lifespan of 70 years or more, and slow rate of reproduction, the dugong is especially vulnerable to these types of exploitation. In addition, dugongs are threatened by storms, parasites, and their natural predators, sharks, killer whales, and crocodiles.

HABITAT

Its habitat range into almost 37 countries throughout the Indo-Pacific.

Photobucket

Groups of 10,000 or more are present on the Great Barrier Reef of Australia, at Shark Bay, and in Torres Strait south of New Guinea. Before 1970, it is thought that large populations were also present in Mozambique and coastal Kenya, but these have dwindled. Palau also has a small population. On January 22, 2003, an individual was found (weight 300 kg, length 2 m) off the coast of Tanzania.

A small number of dugongs are also found in the Straits of Johor, in the Philippine provinces of Palawan, Romblon, Guimaras and Davao Oriental, in the Arabian Sea along Pakistan and in the Red Sea in Egypt provinces Marsa Alam at Marsa Abu Dabbab. The remaining dugongs in the Persian Gulf were reportedly further endangered by repeated U.S.-Iraq conflicts.

An endangered population of 50 or fewer dugongs survives around Okinawa.

ECOLOGY AND LIFE

Feeding -
As a herbivors, dugong diets and mainly on sea-grass, hence being called as 'sea-cows'. They will also go to any fresh water sources for drinking. Without these fresh water sources, many would not survive. The amount of these fresh water sources, however, is beginning to decline.

Dugong

Migration -
During the winter, a few herds of dugongs will move to warmer places in the northern countries, such as bays and canals. Dugongs also live in warmer waters of many other countries near the equator.

Reproduction -
Gestation in the Dugong lasts around 13 months, and results in the birth of a single young. The calf is not fully weaned for a further two years, and does not become sexually mature until the age of 8-18, longer than in most other mammals. As a result, despite the longevity of the Dugong, which may live for fifty years or more, females give birth only a few times during their life, and invest considerable parental care in their young.

TRIVIA

Dugong has a long history with the human and it is proved by the 5000-year old painting at Gua Tambun, Perak.

COMMENT

Perak Crisis... Again?

Assalamualaikum and peace be upon all of you..
Thanks for viewing my blog.

flag of perakPerak's coat of arm

Yesterday, 7 May 2009 was the Perak State Assembly opening ceremony. Malaysians know well about the constitutional crisis in the state. And now, the crisis somehow has stirred a huge uproar into the assembly.

Photobucket

The opening ceremony that should be started with royal address by Perak Regent, Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah at 10am had to wait until 3.15pm to do so. Not only that, the sitting also saw 3 one hour breaks, abusive exchanges, flared tempers, much pushing and shoving between opposing lawmakers, and former speaker V. Sivakumar being removed from the assembly by policemen.

Almost 60 Pakatan supporters were arrested throughout the day, including several DAP leaders and a blogger.

CHRONOLOGY
  1. Right after BN and Pakatan Assemblymen enter the Assembly, a shouting match ensued when Sivakumar ordered Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir, his six exco members and the three independents friendly to BN to leave the sitting.
  2. Sivakumar refused to begin proceedings unless the group of 10 obeyed his directive and ordered the sergeant-at-arms to remove them. The sergeant-at-arms, however, refused to heed his instruction.
  3. Zambry tried to move a motion to sack Sivakumar twice but was rejected by the latter on both occasions despite support from all BN and independent assemblymen.
  4. The menteri besar then said that Sivakumar had been effectively expelled, which led to Deputy Speaker Hee Yit Foong presiding over the sitting at 10.50am.
  5. Zambry immediately proposed former Sungkai assemblyman Datuk R. Ganesan as the new speaker and was seconded by senior exco member Hamidah Osman.
  6. With support from 31 assemblymen, Hee duly announced to the sitting that Ganesan had been elected as the new speaker. Sivakumar, however, still refused to leave and remained firmly seated in the speaker's chair.

    Photobucket
  7. DAP assemblyman Thomas Su Keong Siong tried to grab the microphone from Ganesan which led to BN assemblymen forming a protective ring around the new speaker.
  8. As the situation worsened with the two sides nearly coming to blows, several plainclothes policemen entered the hall and tried to restore order despite shouts of protest from Pakatan assemblymen.
  9. Ganesan tried his best to reason with the Pakatan assemblymen, saying
"the speaker is chosen by the assembly, not the rakyat".
  10. Sivakumar was then escorted out of the assembly by several policemen amid shouts of "keluarkan, keluarkan" (get him out, get him out).

    Photobucket
  11. As the chaos continued, Zambry moved a motion for prayers in anticipation of Raja Nazrin delivering the royal address.
  12. Calm was momentarily restored when all the remaining 58 assemblymen took their seats and listened to Raja Nazrin's speech.

    Photobucket
  13. Within minutes of Raja Nazrin leaving the house, Ganesan announced that the fractious meeting of the second term of the 12th Assembly was adjourned sine die.

What has happen? What went wrong? Who is the bad guys?

Maybe that some of questions that can be heard in this situation. From my point of view, it is not the question who right or who wrong. It is whether can both sides, BN and PR can work together despite their political backgrounds.

UK multiparty House of Commons and USA Senate has prove their credibility to serve for their respective nations and their actually can work together and be less partisan in some situations. UK House of commons currently almost 11 parties in the assembly and still can retain order, even with Prime Minister is challenged by 2 shadow Prime Minister.

USA even with 2 party system, the senate is prove to be less partisan with its 6-years term.

But, what happen to Malaysia? 2 dominant party, 1 leader with 1 shadow leader, ended up with confrontations, and its only a state assembly with 59 seats.

Almost 1 year, both sides has said to serves for the people, but with the situations now, I think that some of this assemblymen only be elected not to serve for the people but for their own personal gain. Usually ended up, "this is what people want".

Just my personal view, I think we don't have to hold another by-elections or choose a new Chief Minister, but likely a conventions, so that this two party, BN and PR alike must do whatever they can to cooperate with each other... by any means necessary.
Perak have its own Vision 2015, and it is just 6 years from now....

be fast all assemblymen. Rakyat is watching...

HISTORY

The history of the Sultanate of Pahang can be traced back since the early pre-islamic era. It is founded as a vassal state to the Sultanate of Malacca, later became a territory of the Sultanate of Johor before becoming an independence Sultanate in 1861. In early age, the State is known as Inderapura. Since its foundation in 1470, the State has been ruled by two dynasty, the descendant of Malaccan Royalty and the Johorean House of Bendahara.

The history of modern Pahang started almost significantly with the fall of Johor-Riau Empire. After the line of Malaccan Royalty as the ruler of Pahang ended with the Acheh's invasion, the Johorean House of Bendahara takes control over the land. Thus, Pahang became a territory of Johor-Riau Empire centered in the south. The House of Bendahara later control the dominion with a ruler from the family, known as the Bendahara of Pahang. Even though the dominion does not received direct conflict between Sultan Ali from the House of Bendahara and Temenggung Ibrahim from the House of Temenggung to get the Johorean throne, it still play a major role. In 1861, a mutual agreement was signed between Temenggung Ibrahim of Johor and Bendahara Tun Mutahir of Pahang, recognizing both remnant of the Empire of Johor-Riau to split into two independent Sultanate.

Earlier in 1847, Bendahara Tun Ali retired and transferred his power and authority to Tun Mutahir. Tun Mutahir previously has married to Che Puan Lingga in 1832, and thus was invested the title as the Bendahara Muda of Lingga. Tun Ahmad is among his son produced by the marriage. But in 1857, Bendahara Tun Ali signed a death sentenced to Tun Ahmad. The event resulted Tun Ahmad to flee to Singapore. Tun Ahmad returned to Pahang after the death of Bendahara Tun Ali, only to trigger a conflict with Bendahara Tun Mutahir. The conflict resulted a civil war known as the Pahangite Bendahara War. The conflict also received a political intervention from the Sultan of Terengganu, Johorean House of Temenggung and British. The conflict only come to an end with the death of Bendahara Tun Mutahir in 1863, and Tun Ahmad was hailed as the new Bendahara of Pahang. With the advised from the Sultan of Johor, Bendahara Tun Ahmad proclaimed himself as the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu'adzam Shah in 1884, thus becoming the first Sultan of modern Pahang.
